Accreditation Questions


How do I know if a programme is recognised or awards recognised degrees?
In the Netherlands the Central Register for Higher Education Programmes (CROHO) lists recognised higher education institutions and accredited programmes. Only degrees awarded by the programmes published on this website are recognised by all the authorities in the Netherlands and Flanders. Internationally, the Qrossroads website lists accredited programmes from European countries. All Inholland programmes are accredited. For more information, please check NVAO

How do I know if an institution is recognised?
Higher education institutions in the Netherlands and Flanders can only be recognised by law or by a governmental decree. New institutions and providers are now recognised after a registration procedure, including the initial accreditation of programmes, and a formal decision by the government. The recognised higher education institutions are registered in the Central Register for Higher Education Programmes (the Netherlands) and the Higher Education Register (Flanders).  Inholland is a recognised institute. What degree do I receive after I have finished the bachelor course?
When you graduate, you have obtained a bachelor's degree.

When do the programmes start?
Courses generally begin each September and last until the middle of June the following year. Some courses offer a February intake.

A few universities start courses during the spring, which then last from February to December. You can contact the Course Information Desk for more details.

What is the workload?
Students are expected to spend 40 hours a week on their studies including in-class time, project work and at home study.

Do you have a prospectus or brochure available?
Yes we do, you can go online and order a a brochure however to be environmentally friendly, we offer an online version of the Inholland brochure online.

Costs and Funding Questions


How much is the tuition fee?

What scholarships are available to me and what do I need to do in order to receive them?
Non EU students are entitled to a scholarship from Inholland University of Applied Sciences. However, there are some requirements that must be met by the student. You can find more information in the Scholarships section on the  Inholland website.

Shortly after you start your course in September, more detailed information will be given to you at our International Office. They will give you a form to fill in. After you submit the filled-in form, the amount of the scholarship will be automatically transferred to your Dutch bank account.

EU and Dutch students are advised to use the Nuffic Grantfinder which allows you to determine if you are eligible for any scholarships/grants/loans from external sources. The DUO website is the keysource of information and all queries regarding grants and loans need to be directed to them.

Will Inholland University of Applied Sciences help me find housing? How much approximately will the price per month be?
Some locations offer short-term accommodation to incoming foreign students who are studying at the Inholland University of Applied Sciences. The prices for student accommodation can differ.

What is the deadline to apply?
International applicants should note that the enrolment procedure can take well over three months to complete. To improve your chances to attend the course of your choice, it is best to enrol as early as possible. We recommend the following enrolment deadline dates: 

  • Dutch students by 1 September 
  • EU students by 1 June 
  • Non-EU students by 1 May

Can I transfer credits from my previous university and enrol into a later semester?
This may seem like a possible is a viable option. However,  we cannot assess for certain if its possible your previous grade transcripts and university accreditation until you apply. If you apply, and we can evaluate your request and transfer applicable credits. Please contact either the relevant International office at your programme location or the International Recruitment & Admissions Office.

When will I hear the result of my application?
The time it takes Inholland to process each application is strongly dependent on the type of secondary school diploma that you have and the timing of its submission to us. Applicants, who possess internationally recognized diplomas and send them to us as soon as they have applied via Studielink, stand a greater chance to hear the result of their applications as early as possible. Prospective students who are not going to receive their diplomas before the end of their school year can already send in their transcripts, but normally you will have to wait to hear from us until we receive your  their final diplomas.

Please note that the enrolment procedure for international applicants can take well over three months to complete, so please apply as early as possible.

Language Proficiency Questions

Do you offer NT2 exams (prepatory Dutch language course)?
To prepare yourself thoroughly for a Dutch language course at Inholland University of Applied Sciences, you can enrol in the Taal & Schakelcursus (Language and Transition Course) in Diemen. Within the Taal & Schakelcursus you can obtain a NT2 diploma. You can find more information on the Taal & Schakelcursus here or in the English Summary.

Is it possible to do an IELTS or TOEFL test at Inholland University of Applied Sciences?
You cannot take the test at Inholland University of Applied Sciences. Please check the IELTS and TOEFL websites for more information on taking the test in a location close to you.

I have studied in an English speaking country. Do I still need to provide an English certificate?
If you have studied in an English speaking country for the three most recent years of your education and have obtained an official diploma from your institution, you might be exempted from the language requirements. Inholland will need to see your diploma and transcript first before awarding you an exemption for English.

I'm a student at a partner university and I want to take part in the exchange programme, can you help?
Inholland University of Applied Sciences has made exchange-agreements with partner institutions all around the world. All locations of Inholland have several international exchange programmes in which you can participate.

If you wish to take part in an exchange programme with Inholland University of Applied Sciences, please inquire at your own institution (the International Office or Study-coordinator) if such a cooperation exists between your University and Inholland, in your field of study.
