When you apply for a room via Inholland, you commit to paying the rent for a minimum of 1 semester. It is not possible to cancel the tenancy agreement before the end date in the contract (8 July 2019).
Fixed rental date for semester 2 (Spring 2019): 30 January 2019 – 8 July 2019
After you have submitted your online application, it might take 2 weeks before you will receive an activation code from student housing organization DUWO. Check your junk mail box because if you use a spam filter, this e-mail from DUWO might end up in there! With your activation code, you can log in the system of DUWO and reserve your own room. Please note that we have a limited number of rooms. First come, first served.
For Spring 2019, we only have a very limited number of rooms available in Echtenstein. New exchange students might therefore be allocated a room in Daalwijk or Darlingstraat. Please keep in mind that we can never guarantee a room, even if you have applied before 30 November.
Application for accommodation for the academic year 2019-20 will open as of 1 May 2019!

Echtenstein is a ten-minute bike-ride away from the Amsterdamse Poort shopping centre. It offers a huge variety of stores; from small boutiques up to well-known department stores and large supermarkets. In Amsterdamse Poort you can go for your daily shopping, but also try the diverse food tents and unique products from local entrepreneurs. Plus, IKEA is also nearby! The largest cinema complex in the country, Pathé Arena, is in the same area. Next door you will also find the largest concert halls, AFAS Live and Ziggo Dome.
At Echtenstein, you have your own bedroom in a four-room apartment. The living room, kitchen, bathroom and lavatory are shared. All rooms are furnished, designated for students from abroad.
The apartments are usually mixed-gender (male and female students in 1 apartment), but you always have your own room. If you do not want to live with the opposite gender, send us an email before you submit your application form. The number of single gender apartments is very limited, so we cannot give any guarantees.
