Bart Combee new Chairman of the Executive Board of Inholland UAS

The Supervisory Board of Inholland University of Applied Sciences has appointed Bart Combee as Chairman of the Executive Board. ’We look forward to his arrival’, said Siebe Riedstra, chair of the Supervisory Board. ’Bart brings a huge amount of top management experience in a broad spectrum of companies, social organisations, politics and the media. This experience is very valuable for a university of applied sciences positioned in the heart of the community.’ Combee will take up his post at Inholland on 1 September.

Last year, Bart Combee held a post on the board of the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). Earlier, he spent ten years as the director and also the public face of the Dutch Consumers’ Association. His previous career in the business and healthcare sectors have also given him a broad perspective on society.

Responding to a changing society
’Society is changing at a rapid pace. Today’s students will soon work in professions that don’t even exist at the moment. Inholland already has many resources and abilities to respond to this trend’, told Bart Combee with reference to his appointment. ’I have experience in innovation, digital transformation and their relationship to a fast-changing society, which I look forward to applying in collaboration with students and teaching staff. In this way, we can together shape the education system of the future.’

Being there for students
’The guiding principle in my career has always been the user’, continued Bart. To me, it all begins with them. At Inholland, the user means the student. I feel privileged to serve and support the professionals of the future. For these people, the university is a home. I also feel at home here with my own style: personal and accessible, as the Inholland values are so accurately expressed. I want to have a lot of contact with students, academic staff and other colleagues. My door will always be open. In all, I look forward to taking up my work and being a proud ambassador for Inholland.’

Positive recommendation
The Inholland Representative Advisory Council and the appointment advisory committee (with representatives from the faculties, the support services and the Advisory Council) share Bart Combee’s enthusiasm. They issued a positive recommendation for his appointment, which the Supervisory Board was happy to adopt. ’Bart fits Inholland and Inholland fits him’, concluded Siebe Riedstra. ’I quickly realised as much in the discussions with him thanks to his experience, accessibility as well as the enthusiasm and passion with which he responds to our rapidly changing society. He’s the right person in the right place at the right time. On behalf of the Supervisory Board, I wish Bart the best of luck and a great time at Inholland!’
