Back to school today – without social distancing

The start of the academic year this week coincides with the new relaxed coronavirus measures for higher education coming into effect from today. This means that all educational activities at the University of Applied Sciences will once again resume. As such, teaching will be able to take place without social distancing (1.5-metre rule). We have been looking forward to this moment – when ‘normal’ lessons could resume and we could go back to interacting in person in real life – for a long time.

Measures
A number of measures, however, will continue to apply to everyone in our buildings:

  • Wearing a face mask will be compulsory when moving around within Inholland buildings.
  • Rooms will have a maximum capacity of up to 75 people.
  • Within the University of Applied Sciences, we kindly request that everyone stick to the walking routes that have been set out.

Self-testing
We take our responsibility to contribute to keeping COVID infection levels low seriously. Although not compulsory, we kindly ask that if you are coming into Inholland in person you take two self-tests a week. If the result of the home test is positive, please self-isolate at home and set up an appointment for a PCR test at the GGD (Municipal Health Service). Even if you are vaccinated, you should still take self-tests.

Please note that you should only use the self-testing kit if you do not have any symptoms. If you do have any COVID-19 symptoms, please stay home and make an appointment for a PCR test at the GGD.

You will be receiving two self-tests from Inholland in the next few days – or you may already have received them. If you run out of self-tests, you will be able to pick up a new self-testing kit at the exit or at reception when you next come in.

We also hope that you will consider getting vaccinated. After all, in order to combat the virus, it is vital that as many people as possible get vaccinated. We realise that some people may find congregating with large numbers of other people stressful and may be anxious. This is something you should (feel free to) address with your fellow students and lecturers.
