Corona measures: more on-site education possible

This time, the press conference brought us good news. In addition to practical classes and scheduled exams, we will be allowed to offer more education at our locations from 26 April. A first step towards further opening up our education and meeting other students. Your study programme will let you know which teaching activities this applies to. The existing guidelines apply for visiting our locations – such as the use of face masks and maintaining a social distance of 1.5 metres – will remain in force.

Introduction of self-testing
The self-tests will be available early May. From that moment onwards we will ask you and other staff to do a self-test before visiting Inholland. The self-tests are not mandatory.

The self-tests are part of a broader introduction of self-testing in Dutch society. They are an additional tool we can use to combat the coronavirus. It is not a prerequisite for students or employees to gain access to our campuses. Nevertheless, we ask everyone to take the self-test and do their bit to help fight the virus.

The tests are free, and we will provide them to you. As soon as the tests are delivered, we will inform you on how to get them and use them.

You can find out more about the existing coronavirus measures and the introduction of self-testing via Knowledge Base on Iris

Practical classes and scheduled exams
Meanwhile, our buildings also remain open for practical education and scheduled on-campus tests. With the curfew expiring on 28 April, it will be nice to go out in the evening for these tests and practicals without a self-declaration. Otherwise, you should work and study from home. Everyone who enters our buildings must comply with the measures.

Outlook
With more things opening up and the introduction of self-testing, we are entering a new phase in this second year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hopefully, this loosening of restrictions will be the start of even more possibilities for your education. That thought might also make it more bearable for you to hold on a little longer. And if you find yourself in need of a sympathetic ear, you can turn to your fellow students, programme department, coach, study coach, student counsellor or the student buddies from the Student Success Centre. If you would like to talk to a student buddy anonymously, you can do so via the chat function on the Frisse Gedachtes digital platform.
