Tourism students welcoming visitors to Amsterdam

Toerism students in action.

First and second year students from HTRO and Tourism Management at Inholland Diemen work in welcome teams at different locations in Amsterdam. The tourism students will be advising visitors in the city until Christmas, together with students from the ROC of Amsterdam and the Hotel School of The Hague/Amsterdam.

The welcome teams were initiated by the city and Amsterdam Marketing to help tourists out at the busiest locations in town, such as Dam Square, Museum Square and Central Railway Station. The students are first point of contact for many visitors and assist them when they have questions regarding accommodation, public transportation and attractions in the city. This initiative is much appreciated by visitors and helps to create a hospitable impression of Amsterdam. The participating students can also use this activity to acquire credits for their orientation in the industry, which will be a mandatory element of the curriculum as of 2017-2018.
