Inholland’s online environment up and running again

Following a temporary preventive shut-down of the online environment, staff and students of Inholland now have full external access to their files and applications once more. The online environment had been taken offline due to a security breach in the Citrix software that Inholland uses. Internally, all ICT applications could be accessed as usual.

This measure was strictly preventive; there are no indications that hackers managed to hack into the systems. ‘On the advice of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), we took our online environment offline’, Chair of Inholland’s Executive Board Jet de Ranitz said of the measure. ‘While I do understand that it is a radical step, security is paramount and we have a duty to safeguard the data of our staff as well as our students.’

Submission dates for assignments and exams
The Executive Board has decided to postpone the deadline for the submission of assignments and to cancel all exams scheduled for Monday 20 January. Students will be given an extra resit opportunity in case of exams scheduled for Tuesday 21 January.

Access fully restored
The software has been updated. Everyone now has access to all data and documents again, wherever they are (both within and outside of Inholland’s buildings). Jet de Ranitz: ‘Fortunately, everything is back to the way it was before. As we realise that our colleagues and students may have been inconvenienced by this issue, we would like to thank them for their understanding over the past few days.’
