Rent a room in Delft

One year stay in Delft

Inholland has a limited amount of furnished rooms available for new first year international students (including students from Surinam and the Caribbean).

Please note: the rooms are allocated on a first come first serve basis, so we recommend you to apply as soon as possible. We can't guarantee a room for every student.

How to apply

How to apply

You can already get a DUWO room while still in the application process for the study programme. However, to receive the keys of your room at the start of the contract, your application for the study programme has to be complete on 1 August 2026 latest.

This means that:

  1. Your (foreign) diploma has been validated by the Admissions Office.
  2. Your proof of English proficiency has been checked by the Admissions Office (if applicable).

If your application is not complete by 1 August 2026, we will cancel your rental contract.

Fixed renting periods for academic year 2026/2027

  • Fall semester 2026-27: 17 August - 22 January
  • Spring semester 2026-27: 26 January - 30 July
  • Full year (2 semesters): 17 August - 30 July

When signing the tenancy agreement, you commit to paying the rent until the last day of the rental period. It is not possible to cancel the tenancy agreement before the end date.

Also, please keep in mind that it is not possible to extend the rental contract after the end-date mentioned above.

In case you decide to withdraw from the study programme before the start of the semester, you will still have to pay the first month rent + administration costs.

Application form and allocation

The application period for accommodation for the 2026-2027 academic year opened on 15 May 2026 at 9:00 AM CET.

As the number of available accommodations is limited, housing is allocated through a selection process. Priority is given to exchange students and first-year bachelor's students. Applicants who are not offered housing during the initial allocation will automatically be placed on the waiting list.

Should any accommodation become available at a later stage, students on the waiting list may be contacted and offered housing.

Please note: Being eligible to apply for accommodation does not guarantee that housing can be offered.

You do not need to upload any documents at this stage. We’ll simply ask for basic personal details such as your name and nationality.

What happens after I am selected?

  1. Access the ROOM.nl portal
A few weeks after the application deadline, you will receive login details for the ROOM.nl portal. In this portal, you can view the available accommodations, including photos and important information.

  2. Select your accommodation
You will have two days to choose your accommodation. If you do not make a selection within this period, your booking opportunity will expire and you will no longer be able to reserve accommodation.

  3. Upload your documents
After selecting your accommodation, you will receive instructions from DUWO to upload the necessary documents in the DUWO portal. Do so within three days after selecting your accommodation.

  4. Make your payment
DUWO will also send you instructions on how to arrange the initial payment.

  5. Sign your contract
Finally, you will be asked to digitally sign your contract in the DUWO portal. Once the contract is signed, your booking is confirmed.

You need to pay and sign your contract within two weeks after DUWO has approved your documents. If you do not meet the deadline, your reservation will be cancelled. Be prepared to take action when you receive emails, and ensure you have the money ready for the first payment.
