Rent a room in Haarlem
If you are an exchange student, you can rent a furnished room provided by Inholland at the Schoonzichtlaan apartment building for one semester or an entire academic year. Please note that we have very limited rooms available.
Currently all rooms are booked. However, you can still apply for the waiting list through the link below. We will contact you in case we have a cancellation and you are on top of the waiting list.
Please note: We only have a very limited number of rooms available. Please check our website for alternative options for housing. We strongly advise you to search for a room yourself with help of the websites and tips we have stated on our housing page, even when you have also applied for a room through Inholland.
When you apply for a room via Inholland, you commit to paying the rent for a minimum of 1 semester. It is not possible to cancel the tenancy agreement before the end date of the contract.
Fixed renting periods for academic year 2025/2026 (To be confirmed)
The application Forms for Fall semester 2025-26 opens on Thursday 15 May 2025 at 9AM. The deadline to fill out the form is Thursday 29 May 2025 at 5PM. During this period, you can apply through the 'Apply now' button below. Please make sure to apply as soon as possible on 15 May at 9AM, as we work on a first come, first served basis. We usually have enough applications to fill all rooms within a couple of hours after the Forms opens.
What happens after my application?
Within one week after the application deadline (29 May), we will offer you a room if available. You will receive an email from DUWO/ROOM about activating your account. Please notice that this is the only offer that you will receive. If you reject the offer, you will not receive another one. Be prepared to take actions when you receive e-mails (check your spam folder!) and make sure you have the money for the first payment ready.

At Schoonzichtlaan, when renting a single room, you have your own bedroom in a six- or eight-room apartment. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with toilet. The living room and kitchen are shared.
You may also rent a shared room. In that case, the bedroom, bathroom and toilet are shared with one other student. You will share the living room and kitchen with all students in the apartment.
All rooms are furnished, designated for students from abroad. For a list of the inventory, please check the website of DUWO.
The apartments are usually mixed-gender (male and female students in 1 apartment), but the shared bedrooms are always either male or female, so not mixed-gender.
Prices 2025-2026
The rent prices differ per type of room, but always include gas, water, electricity, local taxes, tv and wired internet.

Inholland Haarlem has a spacious and modern student accommodation at Schoonzichtlaan next to the university campus. All residences have a communal kitchen, living room with TV, a lift, a laundry area with two washing machines and two dryers, and a roof patio. The rooms are furnished with a bed and mattress, sheets, wardrobe, desk, chair, lamps, fridge, cooker, and table with chairs. Please note that the standard internet is available through a LAN cable, but there is no WiFi. If you want to use the LAN connection on your laptop, make sure you bring your own router.
Schoonzichtlaan is five minutes’ walk from the Overveen train station and Overveen shops, including a supermarket. The bus stop is around the corner from the apartment building and takes you to the city centre of Haarlem in approximately 10 minutes by bus or approximately 15 minutes by bicycle.
