Rent a room in Haarlem
If you are an exchange student, you are able to rent a furnished room provided by Inholland at the Schoonzichtlaan apartment building for one semester or an entire academic year. Please note that we have very limited rooms available.
At Schoonzichtlaan, when renting a single room, you have your own bedroom in a six- or eight-room apartment. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with toilet. The living room and kitchen are shared.
You may also rent a shared room. In that case, the bedroom, bathroom and toilet are shared with one other student. You will share the living room and kitchen with all students in the apartment.
All rooms are furnished, designated for students from abroad. For a list of the inventory, please check the website of DUWO.
The apartments are usually mixed-gender (male and female students in 1 apartment), but the shared bedrooms are always either male or female, so not mixed-gender.
Prices for 2024-2025 (TO BE UPDATED)
The rent prices differ per type of room, but always include gas, water, electricity, local taxes, tv and wired internet.

Inholland Haarlem has a spacious and modern student accommodation at Schoonzichtlaan next to the university campus. All residences have a communal kitchen, living room with TV, a lift, a laundry area with two washing machines and two dryers, and a roof patio. The rooms are furnished with a bed and mattress, sheets, wardrobe, desk, chair, lamps, fridge, cooker, and table with chairs. Please note that the standard internet is available through a LAN cable, but there is no WiFi. If you want to use the LAN connection on your laptop, make sure you bring your own router.
Schoonzichtlaan is five minutes’ walk from the Overveen train station and Overveen shops, including a supermarket. The bus stop is around the corner from the apartment building and takes you to the city centre of Haarlem in approximately 10 minutes by bus or approximately 15 minutes by bicycle.

As an exchange student, before you apply for accommodation, please make sure you have been nominated by your home university AND you have completed your application in our mobility database MoveOn.
After you have submitted your online application through our Forms (see button below), you will receive a confirmation message from the International Office, whether or not you are able to book a room. If accepted, you will be uploaded to DUWO’s portal ‘ROOM’. You will receive an email from DUWO with an activation code. Check your junk mail box, because if you use a spam filter, this e-mail from DUWO might end up in there! With your activation code, you can log in the portal of ROOM and reserve your own room. Please note that we have a limited number of rooms. First come, first served.
Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy (Spring semester only)
Exchange students Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy are not able to apply for student accommodation via DUWO. You will receive separate information about accommodation from the international coordinator of MIRT. Furthermore, you might want to rent through Eb en Vloed Zandvoort.
Online application form 2024-2025
A link to the online application form for the Fall semester and full year of 2024-2025 academic year for incoming exchange students and degree students can be found below. The Forms will open at 9:00 o’clock on 15 May 2024. Please apply as soon as possible on 15 May, as rooms fill up very fast. Deadline for application for the Fall 24/25 semester and Full year 24/25 is 1 July 2024 at noon CET. Applying for the Spring semester is not possible yet; the online application for Spring 2025 will open around 15 November 2024. More information will follow later.
