NATO Summit in The Hague: What you need to know

On 24 and 25 June 2025, the Netherlands will host the NATO Summit. Our country will welcome dozens of world leaders, ministers and thousands of delegates at the World Forum in The Hague. To ensure their safe and smooth travel between Schiphol Airport and The Hague, various traffic and security measures will be in place. Travellers in the Randstad region may experience (serious) disruptions during the days surrounding the summit. In this message, we’ll explain what this could mean for you as a student or colleague – and for our education.

Major traffic disruptions expected
From Sunday 22 June to Friday 27 June, motorists should expect significant delays in and around The Hague, Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Trains will run according to the regular timetable during the NATO Summit, but they may be more crowded than usual. Trams and buses in The Hague will also follow their regular schedules, except for lines passing through the secured area around the World Forum.

Education and exams will go ahead
Teaching at Inholland will continue as planned during the week of 23 to 27 June. This means all scheduled classes and exams will take place according to the timetable. Some sessions may be moved or offered online – your programme will keep you informed.

Please make sure to check travel information in advance and allow extra travel time.

If you don’t need to be on campus, we advise you to avoid the Randstad region from Monday 23 to Friday 27 June and work or study from home as much as possible. Only come to campus if it’s truly necessary – and if so, please travel by public transport.

Keep an eye on official updates from the Dutch government about the NATO Summit. If there are any changes affecting our guidance, we will let you know.
