Winter weather: what does it mean for your classes?

We also don’t yet know what to expect after the weekend. Still, we’d like to let you know what Inholland University of Applied Sciences does when the KNMI issues weather warnings, and what this means for your studies.

We also don’t yet know what to expect after the weekend. Still, we’d like to let you know what Inholland University of Applied Sciences does when the KNMI issues weather warnings—and what this means for your studies.

Your safety always comes first. At the same time, we want to help everyone continue with their classes, exams, and work as smoothly as possible.

We follow a weather protocol based on the KNMI’s colour codes:

Code yellow

Everything goes ahead as planned.

Code orange

Classes and exams continue. However, some lessons may be moved online. Your degree programme or lecturer will inform you directly if this happens.

Keep an eye on Iris and your email for updates, possible cancellations, online lessons and information about exams. We’ll continue to monitor the weather closely. If you do need to travel, make sure to leave on time and stay safe along the way.

All (educational) activities, including exams, will be cancelled. Inholland campuses will be closed.

Missed an exam due to the weather? Here’s what to do
If you missed an exam because of extreme weather conditions, your first option is to take the resit.

Was it your final exam opportunity this academic year? In that case, you can request an extra resit from the Examination Board. You’ll need to show that there was a situation of force majeure and that you truly weren’t able to take the exam. The Examination Board will assess your request.
