The Student Wellbeing Monitor 2026 is coming soon

Your experience makes the difference

Studentenwelzijnsmonitor 2

How are you doing as a student at Inholland University of Applied Sciences? When do you feel at home and when do you not? With the Student Well-being Monitor (SWM) you have the opportunity to share that. Your experience helps us to align education and support with what you need. The SWM will start on Monday 4 May and you will receive an e-mail with an invitation to complete the questionnaire. Will you join us?

Why your voice is important
The SWM is an annual questionnaire of the Study Success research group. This allows us to map out how students are doing: how you feel, how involved you are and what helps you to study successfully. But more importantly: your voice matters.

More peace, structure and guidance
A good example of the impact of the monitor comes from the Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy Techniques course. Students indicated that they needed more rest, structure and guidance. Based on these insights, targeted improvements were implemented, a smoother start to the semester, a more predictable curriculum and more attention to guidance, social safety and personal development. This approach resulted in less study stress and a significant increase progression rates of student success rates: from 68.2 percent in 2023–2024 to 87.3 percent in 2024–2025.

Participating in the Student Well-being Monitor means that I can contribute to better mental health for students. As a final-year student, I see how social and performance pressure affect my fellow students. It is extremely important to acknowledge problems so that everyone can feel comfortable in their own skin. By participating in the SWM, I hope to be able to contribute to this. In this way, we build better student well-being together.

Guide to the Support Network
The monitor and conversations with student panels also showed that it was not always clear where they could go for support. Students needed a clearer and more personal approach: where do you need to be and what is the first step? Thanks to these insights, the platform with the help offered within Inholland has been renewed with the Support Network Signpost.

On the Student Support page on Iris, you will now find personalized signposts per location. These show at a glance:

  1. which support staff are available at your location;

  2. how and where to ask your question;

  3. which steps you can go through for different questions.

This way you can find the right support faster, whether you have a practical question, something is bothering you or just want to talk things through. That is the power of your input.

Your experience as a student gives direction to research and to better student well-being.

What's in it for you?
By completing the monitor:

  1. help you to improve education and support;

  2. you contribute to a better study climate for yourself and others;

  3. you will receive personal tips and tools afterwards that can help you;

  4. you have a chance to win great prizes

And perhaps most importantly: you show what is going on, what deserves attention and what can be improved.

How do you participate?
On 4 May 2026, you will receive an e-mail with a link to the Student Wellbeing Monitor. You have until 19 May to complete the monitor. Completing it takes about 10 minutes.

You are not alone
During and after completing the form, we will also refer you to the Student Support page on Iris with the Guide if necessary. A place where you can easily see who you can turn to within your own study programme or beyond.

Together we make a difference
The Student Well-being Monitor gives you a voice. But that voice only gets power when you also make yourself heard. So the question is simple: will you participate this year?
