Anne McKinnon is Director and co-owner of Ristband, an award-winning studio that combines game engines and advanced technology to create new forms of live and online entertainment. Working closely with international stakeholders and industry partners, Anne has helped to bring new forms of immersive events and experiences to international audiences. For her work producing immersive experiences and joining the technology and gaming worlds with the live music industry, McKinnon was recognized by IQ Magazine as a leading architect of the future of live music.
Roman Rappak is Creative Director and co-owner of Ristband, an award-winning studio that combines game engines and advanced technology to create new forms of live and online entertainment. Rappak has directed award-winning short films, installations, and VR projects, and has also composed music for games and films. As an artist, Rappak has released two full-length albums and achieved a wide range of accomplishments, including creating immersive cinema experiences and touring the world's first mixed-reality live concert, performing it in warehouses, galleries, theatres, at raves and contemporary art centers worldwide. Rappak has been tipped by Music Ally as “one to watch” in music and technology. He also tours with his band Pivots and performs AV sets as Venice Bleach.
Joost de Boo is co-founder of Thunderboom Records, a non-profit innovation lab for the music industry. As initiator and executive producer, Thunderboom Records is the driving force behind various cooperative responsible music-tech projects. They work with a wide variety of national and international partners ranging from the Popronde to Effenaar, from the Amsterdam Dance Event to Sónar Barcelona and from the Universiteit Utrecht to King’s College London. One example is of their work is Open Culture Tech, a talent development, knowledge and network program aiming to make the latest tech more accessible to emerging artists. Additionally, Joost is a lecturer in Creative Technology at the AVANS Academy for Technology and Design.
Max Tiel is co-founder of Thunderboom Records, a non-profit innovation lab for the music industry. Thunderboom Records is the driving force behind various cooperative responsible music-tech projects and their goal is to make sure that emerging tech adds positive value to the music industry. They work with a wide variety of national and international partners ranging from the Popronde to Effenaar, from the Amsterdam Dance Event to Sónar Barcelona and from the Universiteit Utrecht to King’s College London. One example of their work is Open Culture Tech, a talent development, knowledge and network program aiming to make the latest AI, AR and avatar tech more accessible to emerging artists. Max is also a guitar player and music producer with prior experience as project lead on creative collaboration projects.
Koos Zwaan is Professor of Innovation in the Music Industry at Inholland University of Applied Sciences. The central focus is how to innovate the music industry in a sustainable way. Research themes are grouped in technological, creative and social innovation and are emerging technologies, new creative practices, ecological sustainability, inclusion and diversity, fair practice, music ecosystem development and mental health. Linked to the professorship is the International Music Industry Lab (IMI Lab), which focuses on issues surrounding a sustainable, inclusive and healthy music industry. Creative new concepts are developed in co-creation with partners from within the industry.
