Case description Students as Partners (SaP) Students as co-developers of SLB learning pathway in Electrical Engineering program
Hogeschool Inholland 2025-2026
Samenvatting
What changes when students not only participate in guidance but also help design it?
In the Electrical Engineering program, students and faculty collaborated to improve academic advising (SLB). Students contributed their own experiences and actively brainstormed what does and does not work. This led to concrete proposals to make SLB more relevant, more personalized, and better connected to their studies and future.
What this pilot demonstrates is how ownership grows: from “this is your party” to a shared responsibility. Students took more and more initiative, while faculty members consciously made space for them. The case study shows that partnership does not arise automatically, but develops and that is precisely where the power for better education lies.
